FAQ
Answered plainly, by the people who'll run your audit.
Day 0 (sign-up): you continue with Google. We infer your company from your email domain (acme.com → Acme). No form. No CRM.
Hour 1–4: our pipeline runs across public sources — SEC filings, LinkedIn, earnings transcripts, press, Crunchbase, hiring signals. 111 deliverables generate. An ex-BCG strategist reviews and signs off.
Day 1 morning: audit lands in your inbox. PDF + Notion workspace + one-page executive summary. You read it standing up with coffee — 20 minutes to the punchline, 2 hours to the full pack.
Day 1 afternoon onwards: if you want CRM-grade depth (real pipeline data, named accounts, $-quantified moves), book a 15-min call. We ask about your CRM there — not before. Paid tiers unlock weekly refresh and Slack delivery.
A fractional CRO is one human, 10–20 hours/week, $8–15K/month. Excellent for hands-on team coaching and forecast discipline — but limited by their personal pattern library and bandwidth.
StrategyHero is a methodology, codified across hundreds of engagements, run by ex-BCG strategists and accelerated by AI. We deliver 111 board-ready artefacts per audit — work that would take a fractional CRO 6–8 weeks to assemble manually, if they could do it at all.
The honest answer: many of our subscribers also have a fractional CRO. We give the CRO leverage. They run the people; we run the strategy machine.
Run the Free Audit first — it costs nothing and runs on public data only. Bring the one-page executive summary to your CEO. That's typically all it takes; CEOs respond to the artefact, not the pitch.
For procurement: Growth tier ($499/mo) is below the threshold that requires procurement loops at most companies. It's a corporate-card line item. No MSA. No security review. No SOC2 questionnaire — we use read-only OAuth and never hold bulk CRM data persistently.
If your company requires formal vendor onboarding regardless, we have a pre-filled vendor questionnaire and DPA ready in 24 hours. Email support@strategyhero.xyz.
The audit goes to whoever signed up. Period. We don't send copies elsewhere, don't notify your manager, don't expose anything to anyone outside the account you signed in with.
In practice the audit usually reveals things you already suspected — sandbagging by specific reps, deals quietly slipping, forecast confidence that doesn't match underlying activity. That's leverage for you, not ammunition against your team. We write recommendations as Monday-morning moves, not blame.
If you want a sanitized version to share upward, the audit includes a one-page executive summary that focuses on opportunities, not finger-pointing. Show that.
No. Engagement data lives in its own folder, isolated per account. We never reuse a client's CRM data, pipeline, or named accounts as input for anyone else's audit.
What we do reuse: methodology, prompts, our own framework. Those are ours and improve over time, which means each audit gets sharper. That's why your audit is better than the one you'd have gotten 6 months ago.
If we ever publish an aggregated cohort statistic (e.g. "average churn risk score across 200 SaaS audits is 34"), it's anonymised — no one can reverse it to identify your company.
Those tools are dashboards. They show you the numbers and trust you to figure out what to do. If you knew what to do, you wouldn't need them. That's the gap they fall into.
StrategyHero is the consultant who interprets the numbers. We don't show you that "Account X is at 87% churn risk" and walk away. We tell you exactly why (3 specific reasons from public signals + pipeline activity), what to do (Monday-morning action with named owner role), and what to say (recovery email pre-written for the rep to send).
Different category. They visualize; we recommend.
Yes — actually ex-BCG. Founders' LinkedIn profiles are linked from our /about page. Verify before you sign anything important; we want you to.
For the avoidance of doubt: StrategyHero is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Boston Consulting Group. The methodology is a codified adaptation of strategy-consulting frameworks (Description / Advantage / Future / Options / Selection — popularised by MBB), refined with quality gates and AI acceleration. References to "ex-BCG" describe team backgrounds, not affiliation.
If you want to test this on a real call, ask us to explain the framework live. Real ex-BCG consultants can. Bluffers can't.
Yes. Anything we've delivered during your paid period is licensed to you for internal business use — for keeps. We cannot un-deliver knowledge.
What stops on cancellation: future audits, weekly refresh, Slack alerts, ad-hoc requests. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no pro-rata refund on the unused remainder, but no charge for the next period either.
One exception: if you cancel within 7 days of starting your first paid subscription and you've only used 1 audit, we issue a full refund. Just email support.
No. CRM connection is only relevant on paid tiers, after you've decided to go deeper. And it's never required — public-data audits run for everyone, regardless of CRM.
If you do want CRM-grade depth: HubSpot and Salesforce are native OAuth (live today). Any other CRM (Pipedrive, Close, Attio, Dynamics, Zoho, Excel) works via CSV upload — you export deals/accounts/contacts, drop into our portal, audit completes. Quality is ~80% of native — we lose live activity-timeline depth but capture everything else.
We're adding native connectors for the most-requested CRMs every 4 weeks. Pipedrive, Close, and Attio next.
Three mechanisms. First, every audit ingests fresh public sources at run-time — SEC filings, earnings calls, news, LinkedIn signals from the last 90 days. Generic advice would come from stale corpus; ours doesn't.
Second, we maintain archetype-specific playbooks: B2B SaaS, B2B services, B2B hardware, B2C retail, finance, healthcare, energy, industrial. Each has its own KPI tree, regulatory gates, and benchmark dataset. The audit picks the playbook before running.
Third, every audit ends with a self-critique pass: we explicitly flag where our analysis lacks industry depth and what an industry expert would add. Honest about the edges — that's how you trust the middle.
30-day Satisfaction Guarantee — for everyone on a paid tier. If at any point in your first 30 days you decide the subscription wasn't worth what you paid, email support — full refund. No criteria, no negotiation, no survey to fill in. We may ask one question for our learning; your answer is optional.
$50K Value Guarantee — for Growth tier subscribers with $1M+ ARR. By end of month 2, audit-derived recommendations should identify at least $50,000 of attributable pipeline value (prevented churn, upsell, accelerated deals). If they don't, email support within 14 days of month-2 billing — both months refunded.
Why the $1M+ ARR gate? At smaller revenue, $50K is more than a typical company's total quarterly pipeline. The number stops being meaningful. The 30-day Satisfaction Guarantee covers everyone regardless of size, on softer but broader terms.
Both are independent: an eligible Growth subscriber may invoke either, not both, for the same fees. Full mechanics: Terms §6.3 + §6.4.
